The Filterra BioPave Stormwater Management System incorporates stormwater detention, storage, conveyance, infiltration and bioretention quality treatment into a wearing surface for light and heavy duty vehicular traffic. This system uses exclusive components of permeable interlocking concrete pavers (PICP), stone aggregate, soil stabilitization grid and Filterra Bioretention Systems to create a wearing surface that fully detains, conveys and treats up through Q10 storm events. This system can eliminate quantity conveyance systems and offers unprecedented stormwater quality treatment (100% of Q10 storm event) within a functional wearing surface such as a parking lot.
PICP conveys stormwater runoff to underlying stone detention (through Q10 storm event), allowing for maximum infiltration according to the site conditions. Detained runoff not infiltrated is treated by Filterra Bioretention Systems, providing full treatment through the Q10 storm event. Because this detention system is fully drained by Filterra in less than 24 hours, the mechanical integrity of this wearing surface is maintained.
